Shawn’s historical murals are so intricately detailed it is hard to believe how quickly he finished this massive undertaking. And, with that, he was commissioned to be the company artist, burning all Village signage including that in the merc, the lodge, the walls of the restaurant, the Velvet Falls Dance Hall bar top and the large detailed Idaho map in the lodge’s front office. His works of art were first recognized by Mountain Village owner Russell Clark at the Rod N Gun. But it wasn’t until his 70 th year in life that his wood-burning talents awoke. For the last few years of his life, we got to be his family, and his art will stand the test of time,” said Gabe Cardoso, marketing & events manager for Mountain Village.Ī traveling musician, Vietnam vet, featherweight boxing champion, karaoke champion and one-time owner of a pet bobcat, Allen lived a very colorful and eventful life. “None of us knew he had such exquisite talent.
